Cortinarius bivellus Fr. (Telamonia) Cap 3–9cm across, hemispherical to domed, pale reddish-brown. Stem 30–80 x 10–30mm, firm, clavate, white and woolly encased in copious veil material. Flesh white to pallid with brown streaks. Smell similar to Lepista. Gills rusty ochre. Spore print rust. Spores elliptic, 7–9 x 4–5.5um. Habitat birch (pine) woods. Season autumn. Edibility unknown –avoid, many Cortinarius contain toxins. Found In Europe. |
